DHF Wool Top Dyed Top Coloured Top Yarns Green Gallery Books Green Sheep Customer's Comments Order Form |

Or the end of a chapter... With a farm our size we are (officially speaking) no longer viable since wool prices are variable to put it politely, and we are unable to sell sheep for meat yet, as although the new abattoir is exporting Falklands mutton we are very remote and have problems moving stock. The situation should change once we get the new road into the farm... we hope anyway, and that depends also on the new ferry service to get sheep across the Sound to East Falkland of course.
We are proud of our wool, and happy to offer a quality fibre. It's truly 'green' too (see Green Sheep for more information). But we will have ceased offering any items by mail order, for various reasons. Here's a brief history of our ventures into mail order: We began by offering unique Mini-Bales holding three to four selected fleeces (in a range of grades) for handspinning, and received a delighted response from those who bought them. The following year we offered this format again but at a standardised weight to simplify things (25 pounds nett) together with smaller Woolsacks (3 pounds nett) - the latter were a great hit. We discontinued all the greasy fleece packs eventually. We just hadn't got the extra help needed at shearing time to enable us to select and double skirt fleeces, and we aren't prepared to send anything less than our best to customers. We realise that this will disappoint you greasy fleece addicts, but do try our tops and you will be pleasantly surprised. None of them are tightly compacted, the white tops take dye wonderfully, and of course there's no waste, no contamination, just pure pleasure. Great for spinning or feltmaking. We finished offering a mail order service, at the end of June 2002.
Rest assured however that you can continue to buy our white or dyed wool tops through our distributors, who offer a reliable and really fast!! mail order service for DHF fibres. Bulk deals too
Other ProductsWe sell various wool packs, craft kits and yarns in the Pink Shop in Stanley, if you are visiting the islands. Sheepy photo cards too. We hope to reprint the books one fine day when finances permit...
The Green GalleryOur Gallery page was created to show off items made from our wool in whatever form it was originally purchased (including the processing methods, if it was handspun or dyed or both) so please feel free to submit any pictures either as hard photos for scanning or email files, and we will gladly display them. Handspun, woven, crochet, hand knitted, machine knitted, dyed skeins... The more the merrier! Check back regularly to see what's been produced - and please let us show off your work too. Response so far has been slow. What a modest bunch you are :) Pictures may be sent snail mail or via email (see Contact Us for address) - but don't forget to provide your name, and details of the item please.
